Chris Hemsworth shared a glimpse of his post-Thor, post-40 workout this weekend on Instagram.
In the short clip, scored to the Beastie Boys song “Sure Hit,” Hemsworth can be seen in exercise shorts, sunglasses and a ball cap while engaging in a variety of workouts. Although he no longer has to stay in ridiculously ripped Thor shape (he's not currently contracted for any Marvel movies, but hasn't closed the door on returning), the actor is still clearly taking his fitness seriously.
“Doing a lot less heavy weight sessions lately and incorporating sprint work and more functional movements,” the Thor actor captioned his video. “A solid full body workout routine.”
The footage begins with Hemsworth racing his friend, swimmer Ross Edgley, across his lawn, dachshund in tow, before segueing into arm workouts with weighted ropes, and then a medicine ball. The Extraction star can also be glimpsed doing pushups on ground-mounted handlebars.
“Feeling good. And in case [you’re] wondering, yes I left @rossedgley in the dust,” Hemsworth said of the race. “Um well maybe, unfortunately the camera ran outta film so we’ll never know for certain @centrfit.”
Earlier this month, the Avengers alum celebrated his 40th birthday alongside his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their three children. Hemsworth shared that occasion on Instagram, as well. “Thank you for all the birthday wishes! Another lap around [the] sun and still goin strong,” he captioned a photo of himself sitting at a dining table in front of two cakes. “I can safely say not a single piece of cake made it through the night,” Hemsworth confirmed.
