Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series at Kansas Speedway ended in a dust up between teammates Ross Chastain and Noah Gragson. The two drivers confronted one another on the pit road just after the race, leading Chastain to punch Gragson in the face.
Gragson was evidently displeased with how Chastain raced, after the controversial driver ran him into the wall with about 60 laps to go. Chastain ended up finishing in fifth place while Gragson clocked in at 29th.
An irate Gragson could be seen approaching Chastain after exiting their vehicles. "You fucking doored the fuck out of us, man. What's your fucking problem?" Gragson said, grabbing Chastain by the front of his uniform and shaking him. Chastain reacted by connecting a single punch to the left side of Gragson's face before NASCAR security jumped in and pulled the two men apart to stop further escalation.
"What the fuck's your deal, dude?" Gragson could be heard saying amid the fracas.

Later, Chastain made an attempt to explain what had happened.
“I got tight off of [Turn] 4, for sure,” the 30-year-old told Fox Sports. “Noah and I have a very similar attitude on the racetrack, and we train together, we prepare together, we know each other’s—every little bit about each other."
“Yeah, definitely crowded him up off of [Turn] 4, and he took a swipe at us in (Turn) 3, and then he came down and grabbed a hold of me," he added. "A very big man once told me we have a no-push policy here at Trackhouse.”
Gragson, on the other hand, was somewhat less diplomatic telling his side of the story, after a similar incident occurred at Talladega a few weeks back.
"He took care of us at Talladega—we're Chevrolet teammates—he didn't work with us there, and fenced us here, and I’m just over it," Gragson recalled.
"Nobody else has the balls to at least confront him. So, you know, at least just grab him and do something he’s just going to keep doing it," he continued. "I’m over it, it’s the second time, I have respect for Justin Marks and the rest of the Trackhouse team—but I'm ready to fight him."
"I didn't even get a shot in because the security guards got in the middle of it," Gragson added. "But nobody confronts the guy, he just keeps doing it, and I'm sick and tired of it."
Denny Hamlin ended up winning Sunday's race, while Kyle Larson came in at a close second, followed by William Byron in third, Bubba Wallace in fourth, and Chastain in fifth. With no love lost between Chastain and Gragson, it certainly should make practice interesting for the foreseeable future.
