Logan Paul Speaks Out After Fiancé Tormented by Fight Rival Online

Public disagreements between opponents ahead of a match are nothing new, but the beef between YouTuber-turner MMA fighter Logan Paul and fellow brawler Dillon Danis is an especially crazy one.

While Danis claims he’s had a rivalry with Logan and his brother Jake “forever,” according to The Sun, the rhetoric hit new heights when they announced their upcoming October fight a few months back. They took to trading barbs online, but Danis soon took it to a very personal level. It resulted in legal action, which Paul opened up about this week.

The fighter, who trained under Connor McGregor, began posting photos of Logan’s fiancé, SI Swim cover model Nina Agdal, with an assortment of ex-boyfriends. Many of them featured her and former beau Leonardo DiCaprio. Danis then began photoshopping Agdal with other famous men, such as Brad Pitt, to imply they were romantically linked.

Then, Danis took the extreme step of posting a nude photo he found of Agdal. He quickly issued another statement implying he had even more incriminating photos, along with a video of Agdal congratulating herself on abstaining from sex. That was followed by a pornographic video of a woman who appeared to be Agdal alongside an older man. It was later determined that Agdal did not appear in the second video, but rather it was someone who looked like her.

Come September, Agdal filed a restraining order against Danis, which was granted, along with a lawsuit. Danis is prohibited from “posting content in any way depicting or portraying Plaintiff that Defendant knows or has reason to believe was never meant to be shared publicly or was obtained without consent,” according to Page Six. He was a no-show when he had the opportunity to contest the charges of the restraining order in court.

Agdal is seeking “unspecified damages,” but no less than $150,000 for each post. Agdal says in the filings (via TMZ) that she’s “suffered humiliation, emotional distress, and reputational harm” as a result of the attacks. She also believes that one post, which depicts her in “a romantic encounter,” violated federal and state laws.

Despite the disgusting attacks, Danis actually has quite a few people on his side on social media. Mark Travers, Ph.D., attributed the surprising support to Danis' "use of humor and memes" as well as the fact that Logan is "a media personality people love to hate." Travers also pointed to a benchmark study, which indicated that despite reporting two to four times as many sexual partners as women, men rarely face the level of scrutiny or shaming that females do in regard to their private lives.

According to Logan Paul, who spoke to assembled media via Zoom on Wednesday, Agdal will still attend the October 14 match. “Nina is a warrior, dude,” Paul said, according to The Daily Mail. “Dillon Danis is a puddle.”

He continued: “After all of this, when my man is face down, flat, knocked out, horizontal, what are you gonna do? What are you gonna say? This is the man you are – the guy on Twitter, who decided to harass a woman for 60 days.'”
