The incident happened after referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight with less than one minute left in the sixth round. Gotti allegedly said "fuck you" to Mayweather after being disqualified for holding and landed several punches on his opponent after the fight was supposed to have ended.

Gotti recently transitioned to boxing after starting his fighting career in MMA, where he had a 5–1 record. He was 2–0 in boxing before the Mayweather fight, which took place at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, FL.
It's safe to say there's no love lost between the two competitors.
