Fast X comes careening into theaters on May 19, which will mark the third film in the Fast & Furious franchise since the tragic death of Paul Walker. And while each subsequent installment has found a way to pay tribute to Walker—who originally played undercover cop turned street racer Brian O'Conner—Fast X ups the ante by recruiting the late actor's daughter Meadow Walker for a special cameo.
The 24-year-old model, who was Walker's only child, shared an image on Instagram of what will be her first film role, in which she appears to play a flight attendant.
"A preview of my cameo in Fast X," she wrote. "The first fast was released when I was one year old! I grew up on set watching my father, [Vin Diesel], [Jordana Brewster], [Michelle Rodriguez], [Chris "Ludacris" Bridges], and more on the monitors. Thanks to my dad, I was born into the Fast family. I can’t believe now I get to be up there too with those who have been around to see me grow up."
Walker then thanked Leterrier for his "kindness, patience, and support."
"It feels like you’ve been part of the family since we started," she added. "I’m happy it’s just the beginning. I am so blessed to be able to honor my father’s legacy and share this with him forever. I love you all so much."
Walker died in a November 30, 2013 car accident when his his 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, driven by his close friend Roger Rodas, crashed into a concrete lamp post and two trees in Santa Clarita, California. At the time of his death he was in the process of filming Furious 7, which was released posthumously in 2015 using visual effects to recreate his likeness to finish the film.
In addition to the actors mentioned above, Fast X will feature returning stars John Cena, Helen Mirren, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, and Nathalie Emmanuel; as well as newcomers to the franchise Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Rita Moreno.
